Good Friday – EYC Meeting and Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt

We will have an EYC Meeting this Friday (Good Friday) from 6-8pm at Tucker Hall where we will have our monthly EYC meeting as well as a “Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt” with candy and special prizes.  Make sure everyone brings a flashlight or cell phone (with light).  It’s sure to be lots of fun!

I will need a few parents to help hide eggs while we have our meeting. Please let me know if you can help.

Please let me know ASAP if you will be attending so I can prepare accordingly.  We will enjoy Nachos & Cheese.

Saturday night is the Easter Vigil where Charles & Emma will be confirming, it would be great for us all to attend and show our support!

 Thanks!!

Episcopal Youth Messaging App Providing Security and Ease of Communication

The following was written by Becky Becnel, Youth Coordinator:

St. Matthew’s Episcopal Youth Community (EYC) has just started using the Remind app as a way to communicate with our youth and their parents to remind them of meetings, fundraisers, mission trip details, etc. Its a free and simple way for Becky Becnel and Jennifer Dalferes to conveniently reach out to everyone involved with our youth program.

Youth and parents can receive notifications by text message, through the app, on the web, or by email without being required to have the app installed on their device.

With Remind, it allows for safe communication as personal phone numbers and messages are never shared as it would be with group text messaging. Anyone wanting to be included in these notifications should contact Becky Becnel at 985-860-5047 or bbecnel@comcast.net.

For more information please see Remind’s official website: https://www.remind.com. or watch their video at the end of this post.

The usage increase of technology in our society can be feared or embraced.  At the SME Tech Guild, we seek to embrace technology and make it work for the good of our congregation and those not yet a part of our congregation.

If you have an idea, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant, on how we can further our outreach using technology, or improvements to current systems, please, share.

Thanks,
